The Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship of Australia is like a flagpole providing a visible focal point for Christian doctors and dentist to gather around, forming God-honouring cohorts in medicine and dentistry. We fly a flag declaring we are "Following Christ, integrating faith and practice". we belong to the Kingdom which the flag speaks of, the Kingdom of Christ.

One of the challenges facing CMDFA is how to make our flagpole more visible. Websites, quality conferences, thought provoking articles in Luke's Journals, training events like "Work and Witness", dinners and medical missions' evenings all contribute to this occurring. Both nationally and in our states, dedicated volunteers are making these things happen and inviting others along. Relationships and personal invitations form the heart and soul of CMDFA. The commitment of our volunteer leaders is inspiring.

CMDFA is part of a global fellowship, ICMDA, of sister-fellowships from over 60 countries. In August 2018 CMDFA members will travel to Hyderabad, India to attend the XV1th ICMDA World Conference.





  • IMPACT19 - Gratitude - 25 - 28 April


    What: Impact is a (residential) conference over the ANZAC day long weekend run by the Christian Medical Dental Fellowship of Australia (CMDFA). This year we are celebrating our 20th year of IMPACT and we are looking forward to a long weekend where we can hear from God’s Word and spend time in Christian community.

    Who: Christian medical and dental students, doctors and dentists. We are also happy to welcome our nursing and allied health colleagues.

    When: Anzac Day Long Weekend

    Start time: 4pm, Thursday April 25th

    End time: 2pm Sunday April 28th 2019

    Location: Uniting Venues Elanora Heights (19A Wesley St, Elanora Heights NSW 2101).

    In the Northern Suburbs of Sydney, Elanora Heights is a lovely bushy suburb also minutes to the beach, so remember to bring your swimmers. You can check it out here.

    How to get here:

    From the airport. If you’re flying from interstate that’s great!

    • A private shuttle bus will run to and from the conference. You must arrive on time to be able to catch it. It will cost $20 each way.

      • Departure time to conference: 3pm Thursday 25 April from Sydney airport.

      • Departure time from conference: 1:30pm Sunday 28 April to Sydney airport.

    For those arriving outside the time of the shuttle, Sydney airport has a train station and a train is 10 minutes to the city. From there:

    • You can catch a train to connect with a bus or carpool - Wynyard, Gordon or Chatswood

    • Buses to near the site run from Gordon and Wynyard stations.

    • The buses from Wynyard are the B1, E88 and E83

    • The bus from Gordon is the 197

    • We may be able to organise a car pool from stops nearby the campsite.

    Driving - 45 minutes from the centre of Sydney. Please indicate if you can pick up people from the station or along the way to the conference!

    Registration information:

    PGY refers to post-graduate year, i.e. how many years you have been in the workforce. Nursing staff or allied health staff who wish to attend the conference are invited to pay according to their post-graduate year.

    Extra fun facts:

    -       We don’t want finance to be the reason that you don’t come to Impact. Email to inquire regarding a subsidy for financial hardship. This can also go towards travel.

    -    Do you need to get a letter to have time off from university? Again, please email and we can arrange this for you.

    -       Due to site restrictions, we have a limited number of private rooms. Please book early to avoid missing out!
