This September, against a backdrop of spectacular scenery- the Hunter Valley- fifty young doctors will gather to engage in some serious business: rest and relaxation!

The first National Recent Grads Retreat will be hosted on 10-12 September, in the NSW Central Coast's wine country. National Recent Grads Representative, Joanne Ma, has instigated the weekend out of a vision for mutual support and strengthening.

As she explains the inspiration behind the retreat, speaks first of her sadness-- at not just spiritual dryness young doctors experience, but at their loss of faith, as several of her peers have given in to the numerous temptations found in new wealth and positions of power.

“[These temptations are] mixed in with isolation, many hours at work, tiredness, lack of fellowship.”, she says.
