Become a Supporter

In recent years it has been recognised that CMDFA has greater potential and opportunities to serve Christians in medicine or dentistry than we have funds.
Partnership contributions will help us realise the dream of expanding the ways CMDFA can connect with, serve and encourage Christian doctors and dentists, particularly students, around Australia.
Please note that contributing to a partnership does not replace the need to pay basic membership fee if you want to be a member of CMDFA Inc. There are two main types of partnerships:

Tax deductible contributions: General partnerships

Tax-deductible partnerships provide you an opportunity above and beyond your basic membership contribution to support the growing ministry of CMDFA tax-effectively.

General partnerships are named according to the amounts contributed (see below)

Like memberships, they are tax deductible and include a GST component.

Please contribute as much and as often as you are able.

  • Diamond Partnership  $ 5,500
  • Platinum Partnership  $ 2,200
  • Gold Partnership       $ 990
  • Silver Partnership      $ 660
  • Bronze Partnership    $ 440
  • Opal Partnership       $ 220
  • Copper Partnership    $ 55

Please note that payments made for partnerships are anonymous.

Non tax deducible contributions: Specific partnerships

You can also contribute to a specific interest of yours, through a Specific Partnership.

Specific Partnerships (unlike General Partnerships) are NOT tax-deductible.

These partnerships are valuable in getting new work established. For example, our new web site was established this way.

You can be as specific as you like, and we have listed several popular categories below.

Please contribute as much and as often as you are able.

National REGS worker support

Dr Jeremy Beckett, our REGS (Recent Graduates and Students) staff worker is a GP who lives in Western Australia. He does most of his work on a voluntary basis but needs help with out of pocket expenses such as travel and phone costs.  This is a great help in supporting his contribution, enabling him to train student and recent graduate leaders, and help him with his various activities.

Student and recent graduate work

This is a great help in contributing to the work of IMPACT conferences, sponsoring students to attend as well as contributing to leadership training and other aspects of the REGS programme.

Student and recent graduate leadership training

This work is vital for the future of the fellowship and your contribution is greatly valued. The main training event is a weekend held every year run by the REGS staff worker and assisted by a much larger number of graduate mentors. We would like to be able to train two leaders each year form each university, medical and dental faculty in Australia.

Pastoral Care

This is an expanding work and your contribution will greatly help to target benefits for missionary members who are overseas or those going through the process of re-entry to Australia; those with medico-legal problems, or those who are going through burn-out, are seriously ill or unemployed.

Multimedia Resource development

This contribution will help to develop a library of resources, improve the publication of Luke’s journal, enhance the web site as well as produce new publications on a variety of issues that are faced by professionals in health care.

Please note that you may not be able use specific partnerships as tax deductions unless they are directed through your own special trust fund.

If you wish to be more specific than the above the list, then please state so in an extra email. However in doing so please note that if there is not enough money collected over an extended period for a very specific cause to actually fulfill the purpose of the collection, or if it becomes clear that the cause is not within the framework of what the CMDFA board considers important in fulfilling the aims of the fellowship, then we may, in consultation with you, need to consider whether the money should be used in other ways.

Please feel free to discuss this further with one of our national officers

Willing partners

At some stage we all need to complete or upgrade our wills. We would ask you to consider including CMDFA in your thinking when you do that. If all members even just contributed a small amount this way it would add up to a considerable amount of regular income over time.

If you would like to contribute in this way then please contact the executive officer for details.
