Hope Zimbabwe
IMPACT Zimbabwe 2010Wow what a response! The emphasis at the Global Health Night of the IMPACT 2010 conference was that we must bring Jesus into Global Health. An invitation was given that night to give towards schooling the Champions and over the rest of the weekend David Traggalan and Ed Roper rallied many to keep their generosity flowing, Ed shaving his head for the children. Rivers of generosity have flowed in response. The final amount donated was over $16,000. Education is so powerful in releasing these children from poverty and empowering them to rise above their current situation. The cost of schooling Zimbabwean children at public schools are as follows:
Primary Day Schools-Government USD$10 to 50 per semester Uniforms USD$30 to $40 per semester Books/stationary USD $30 per semester Secondary Day Schools- Government USD$60-100 per semester Uniforms USD$80 per semester Books/stationary USD $30 to $50 per semester
Our prayer now as we work with Celebration Health and Champions for Life is for wisdom in how best to distribute this initial donation towards their schooling and see that the giving is sustainable. The team in Zimbabwe have expressed deep thankfulness to the IMPACT conference organisers and delegates for their open hearts towards the Champions.
