VISION 2015 - Report
VISION 2015 was held this year once again on the Gold Coast at CYC Burleigh over the Australia Day long weekend. 'Sunny' Queensland was on its best behaviour with a severe thunderstorm on Friday causing mass chaos. Flights were diverted, delayed or even cancelled. However, this did not deter the delegates, who battled rain and hail to attend!

This year we were extremely fortunate to have international delegates for the first time. 2 students from Papua New Guinea and 2 students from New Zealand attended. It was such a blessing to have them there and welcoming them to the extended CMDFA family.

Ps Alan Radloff, a local pastor on the Gold Coast, was the main speaker for the 3 day leadership conference. His preaching focussed on God's gathering from 'every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the lamb' and our role as leaders in encouraging fellow believers to partake in this wonderful gathering. It is always important to remember that history is His Story.

Further talks on leadership were supplemented by myself, Ben Reardon and Caren Laubscher. The mentors assisted in running the workshops as well as discussion groups. Every medical and dental campus had the opportunity to cast vision for their group through dedicated 'Campus Planning' sessions. On Saturday night, we welcomed locals from the Brisbane and Gold Coast CMDFA chapters to a social night - introducing them to the vision of CMDFA as well as engaging in a night of trivia.

The students left equipped and encouraged to be salt and light on their campuses; integrating their faith with practice. It has been a wonderful opportunity for us to pray, bless and strengthen them in their walk and service to God. The feedback we have received after the conference has also been uplifting. VISION is such a strategic event; investing into the lives of the next generation of leaders. Many thanks to the CMDFA board for supporting such an initiative.

A massive thank you goes out to the rest of the committee for their effort and hard work: Mike Chong, Jacki Dunning, Ben Reardon, Caren Laubscher, Nathan Yii, Hayley Hwang, Samson Kwok. Many thanks also go out to the mentors who took time out of their busy schedules to be at VISION. I am also indebted to all the graduates who provided financial support for the conference.

May God be glorified on every medical and dental campus! Soli Deo Gloria.

In Christ,
Dr Philip Wong
