Missionary Opportunities
Christian Medical and Dental Fellowship in Australia has over 50 members serving as missionaries or working full-time in mission organisations worldwide. While not a sending organisation, CMDFA supports its missionary members, who remain connected to their mission agencies and through CMDFA prayer groups.
We collaborate with groups like InterServe, SIM, Samaritan’s Purse, and Mercy Ships, providing support through prayer, regular check-ins, and home visits.
We have a dedicated small group known as our Mission Hub, comprising current and former missionaries. Their focus is on finding ways to better support our mission members, both while they are at home and out in the field.
If you’re interested in joining the Mission Hub, contact office@cmdfa.org.au.

Student Electives As Short-term Mission
Students who choose to do their medical electives may approach our mission partners for guidance and information about their desired future placement overseas.
This opportunity allows students to use their God given skills to help in a area where medical services are limited.
This step encourages the hospital staff and workers as they receive the student to help in their ministry. It is also personally rewarding to the students as they take a step of faith in serving God in a different context.

Final Year Medical Elective in Arusha, Tanzania
I’ve always enjoyed medical missions and hope to one day serve in some capacity in that space. When my beautiful friend Mia told me about Dr. Andrew Browning (leading Obstetric Fistula Surgeon working in Arusha, Tanzania) and the amazing work he does, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to reach out and see if we could get involved. Dr. Browning kindly gave us advice with arrangements. Together, we’ll be at Selian Lutheran Hospital and Kivulini Medical Centre (Dr. Browning’s facility).
This will provide exposure to multiple specialties in a cross-cultural context including Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery and Orthopaedics. We’ll also be involved in the team’s local church while we’re there. Your prayers will be very much appreciated – most especially that we can be a blessing to the team during our visit!
